KPV — The C-Terminal Fragment of alpha-MSH

KPV consists of just three amino acids: lysine, proline and valine. It corresponds to residues 11 to 13 of the hormone alpha-MSH, making it one of the smallest signalling peptides studied at all. Its small size makes it chemically stable and well characterisable.

KPV in Research

In cell models, KPV is studied in the context of inflammatory signalling pathways. Because the tripeptide is so small it can be dosed precisely across experimental series — provided the starting material is analytically clean.

Format & Reconstitution

KPV ships as a lyophilized powder in a sealed vial. Solvent compatibility, storage conditions and usable period depend on the formulation, experimental protocol, product label and batch-specific documentation.

Purity & Quality

Available analytical reports document the specific batch and test method stated in each report. The lab-reports page shows whether a report is published for the specific batch; unpublished testing must not be assumed. Use our laboratory calculator for concentration and laboratory-volume conversions.

The KPV Pen — Pre-filled Research Format

In the pen, KPV comes pre-dissolved and at a defined concentration — no reconstitution with bacteriostatic water required. You set the desired amount via the graduated dial, which makes experimental series easy to reproduce.

Cold-Chain Shipping

The pen contains the material in solution. Transport and storage conditions follow the product label and batch-specific documentation; shipping packaging is selected according to the requirements recorded for the variant.

Laboratory Handling & Dispensing

Before the first laboratory withdrawal the pen is briefly primed, after which you dial in the desired amount. A matching pen needle is always included.

How many clicks do I need?
For this 10 mg pen: 1 mg = 30 clicks on the graduated dial.1 click = 1 unit on the scale. A full pen = 300 clicks (= 10 mg).
AmountClicks on dial
1 mg30
2.5 mg75 (60 + 15)
5 mg150 (60 + 60 + 30)
7.5 mg225 (60 + 60 + 60 + 45)
10 mg300 full pen

The dial turns to a maximum of 60 clicks per setting — set larger amounts in several steps. For very small amounts, work out the exact clicks in the pen calculator.
